Men on Boats was a show produced by the CalArts school of theater.
The main concept in terms of lighting this play was to use multiple systems of Pars from angles that emulate the direction of moonlight, sunrise, and midday. Each of these systems were designed in a way that these sources of "natural light" had a strong presence in the scenes and created an atmosphere that painted itself like the dusty dry air or cold misty nights.
